JamPlay Overall Rating:

JamPlay.com is hitting it big in the guitar world. Their website is a membership only service which broadcasts high-definition video guitar lessons. They have brought together guitar instruction with interactivity... even allowing you to ask questions to their video instructors. They feature 4-5 guitar instructors to give you a selection in teaching styles, which is a big plus.

They teach by "lesson set" instead of just dishing out a ton of small video clips. They start with the very basics like tuning your guitar, finger placement, and basic chords, and move on to finger-picking, palm muting, hammer ons, pull offs, and many more advanced topics. This methodical approach helps the guitar student from getting overwhelmed.

The other surprise is the low fee. Their monthly rate would not even get you ten minutes with most guitar teachers.

Its simple yet effective design and revolutionary sound broke ground and set trends in electric guitar manufacturing and popular music. The Gibson ES-335 is the world's first commercial thinline arched-top semi-acoustic electric guitar. Released by the Gibson Guitar Corporation as part of its ES (Electric Spanish) series in 1958, it is neither hollow nor solid; instead, a solid wood block runs through the center of its body. The side "wings" are hollow, and the top has two violin-style f-holes over the hollow chambers.

Gibson Flying V

The Flying V was years ahead of its time, as Gibson dealers tended to think of it as a display prop rather than a guitar to sell. It wasn't until the late 1960s that the electric guitar started to gain popularity. As guitar heroes such as Albert King, Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack adopted it, the "V" quickly became symbolic of rock 'n' roll itself.

Gibson SG

In 1961, the Les Paul guitar was redesigned with a thinner body and 2 sharp cutaway horns that making the upper frets more accessible while lowering production costs. The new guitar was popular, but Les Paul the guitarist did not like it and asked to have his name removed. Gibson renamed the model the "SG" which was short for "solid guitar". Though Les Paul's name was officially removed from the model in 1961, the plastic Les Paul nameplates (positioned between the rhythm pickup and fingerboard) were in abundance in the Gibson factory and SG models having these nameplates were built and sold by Gibson up to end of 1963. SGs have been the choice of world-class artists such as Pete Townsend, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, and Angus Young.
